NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION HEARING

 

Notice is hereby given that the Crook County Planning Commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, to consider the following:

Record Number 217-25-000233-PLNG (original) and 217-25-000233-PLNG-01 (appeal) – Central Oregon LandWatch submitted appeal administrative approval of a nonfarm dwelling submitted by Kilpatrick Consulting LLC on behalf of Duke and Dana Settle. The subject property is addressed as 2901 SE Myrtlewood Lane and map tax lot number 1816040005300.

 

The hearing is being held pursuant to: Crook County Code (“CCC”) 18.172.110 (Administration Provisions - Appeals)

 

The application is subject to: CCC 18.16 Exclusive Farm Use Zones (EFU-1) and Crook County Comprehensive Plan.

 

A notice of public hearing and location maps are being mailed to all affected property owners, and to the appropriate entities and public agencies at least 20 days prior to the Planning Commission hearing. A copy of the staff reports will be available at https://co.crook.or.us/planning-commission seven days prior to the hearing at no cost.

 

The hearings will be conducted pursuant to CCC 18.172.081. Interested members of the public may provide oral testimony in favor, opposed, or neutral to the applications. Written testimony or comments may be submitted to the Crook County Community Development Department by email at plan@crookcountyor.gov and may also be submitted in person or by mail to 300 NE 3rd St, Room 12, Prineville, OR 97754. Written testimony received by Friday, October 31, 2025, will be considered by staff prior to the issuance of the staff report and recommendation on this application. However, written testimony will continue to be accepted until the record closes, which may occur as soon as the conclusion of the public hearing.

 

Failure to raise an issue in the hearing, in person or by letter, or failure to provide sufficient specificity to afford the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue precludes an appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals based on that issue.

 

A copy of the applications, all documents, and evidence relied upon by the applicant along with the applicable criteria are available for inspection at no cost and copies will be provided at reasonable cost in accordance with the County’s fee schedule.
