Re-Recording a Document
Any document that has been previously recorded may be re-recorded to correct errors.
The original, previously recorded document may be re-recorded with corrections made to the document and either a Re-Recording Coversheet (see link at bottom of page) or the Re-Recording Statement as shown below.
A certified copy of a recorded document may be re-recorded, however a certified copy may not be altered. Additional pages must be added to the document to show the correction and a Re-Recording Coversheet will be required.
The first page of the document to be re-recorded must meet all of the first page requirements for recordings. This first page may be your Re-Recording Coversheet, if one is used.
Re-Recording Statement - If the Re-Recording Statement is added to the first page of the original document, the statement must not cover any information contained in the document and shall read as follows:
“RE-RECORDED AT THE REQUEST OF _______________________ TO CORRECT __________________________ PREVIOUSLY RECORDED IN BOOK _______ PAGE ________ OR AS FEE NUMBER _____________________________
The undersigned hereby certifies corrections to the previously recorded instrument are true and correct.
