Right of Way Permits
Who needs an individual right-of-way permit?
Any time an individual or contractor needs to perform work within the County road right-of-way, whether in the road, along the sidewalk, on the shoulder or in the ditch, an Individual Right-of-Way permit is required.
Examples of work frequently performed in the right-of-way and requiring a permit include utility installations, example, phone, electricity, cable, gas, water, road cuts, road boring, driveway repairs, mail boxes, signs and private water line installations including irrigation.
The purpose of the permit is to ensure that work conducted in the right-of-way does not constitute a danger to the traveling public or the individuals performing the work and that the competed work does not degrade the right-of-way thereby resulting in increased maintenance costs.
