Citizens' Ride Along

The Crook County Sheriff's Office encourages citizens, persons connected with city or county government, and the news media to visit the Sheriff's Office or ride with a patrol deputy as an observer.

A ride-along application must be completed prior to approving the ride-along.  A Criminal History check is then performed on the applicant.  Upon passing a Criminal History check, the application is sent to a shift supervisor to be assigned to a patrol Deputy. 

Juvenile observers must be at least 16 years of age and must have a parent or guardian signature prior to consideration.

We ask that you submit an application at least one week in advance of your desired observation date.  You will be contacted by telephone to confirm whether or not there is a vacancy for the date and time you have selected.
